Superintendent: Maintenance Engineering

Main responsibilities

Maintenance engineering SI is responsible to give Supervisors and Teams the prerequisites to do their work and achieve targets by acting as an coach and enabler in the maintenance engineering area.


  • According to the company's annual target, plan and task, formulate the targets, plan and measure of the maintenance group. And ensure the implementation of the measures.
  • Responsibility for the maintenance cost control coordination ,VDM introduction specific experts team, EAM system ,new project ,reliability topics, ensure the efficient work of the EAM system, and do the process monitor, analyse the data, and take effective countermeasure of correction.
  • Continuous improvement and perfection of process document and standard work to ensure the equipment running safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate the external (suppliers) and internal (departments) resources, satisfy the request of the plant maintenance and project team.
  • Organize and develop the continuous improvement, optimize the maintenance process and standard operation.
  • Operate to according to and communicate the company philosophy and the VCMS’s 5 principles. Responsible for VCMS implementation within his area.
  • Superintendent is the primary coach and trainer for his/her team regarding VCMS methods and tools.
  • The function has the ownership and drives continues improvement of the maintenance process and methods within the site.
  • Monitor the actual performance versus the targets, analysing and supporting the shop maintenance to create continues improvements.
  • Responsible for the maintenance costs of the plant maintenance.
  • Participates with Maintenance expertise in industrialization project to secure relatability and maintainability deliverables incl. PM, spare parts and documentation.
  • The function has the responsibility for future technologies and development of maintenance 4.0.
  • Manage inventory operations relating to spare parts, consumables, nonproduction chemicals (oil,lubrication etc.), PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) and spare clothes.
  • Participates in the management of the Maintenance system, Maximo/API, and other maintenance support systems.
  • Responsible for handling the repair of repairables.
  • Responsible to perform the calibration of nut runners.
  • Toolmaking: Prepare and purchase all toolmaking within the site, for noninventory parts.
  • Coordination and Development of maintenance training within the maintenance area.
  • Support production with energy optimizing of production equipment.
  • Manage the updates and structure for storing of equipment’s documents.


Competencies Required

  • University degree or equivalent (Master or Bachelor).
  • Management experience 3+ years, experience in the maintenance area at least 6 years.
  • Have a holistic view of the business and good in communication.
  • Skilled in leadership and coaching, being able to motivate, teach and encourage people.
  • High analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Able to work efficiently under high pressure.
  • Fluent in English.
