IT Application Engineer

Our business since its inception in 1991 has been to develop the best retail dealer system and information services for the automotive industry. In the current situation, we have about 100 employees with expertise in areas such as automotive trade, project management, systems and IT. Some of our largest customers are Volvo, Renault and Ford dealers and their general agents and today we have over 10 000 users of our solutions. We are seated in beautiful, newly renovated premises at Lindholmen in Gothenburg. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Volvo Car Sweden.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the robust operation and continuous improvement of the product(s) or service(s) where the engineer is working.
  2. Continuously validating the requirements and deliverables within the product(s) or service(s) where the engineer is working.
  3. Collaborating within and outside the team to secure resilient solutions and shared technical design.
  4. Coordination with the cross team for new changes and new functionalities deployment.  
  5. Perform quality control activities (eg. acceptance tests) to ensure functional and performance objectives are met.  
  6. Conduct configuration of the application and responsible for troubleshooting and problem diagnosis.  
  7. Documentation of the systems and implemented processes and training for end-users.  
  8. Actively collaborating within internal and external networks to build knowledge.
  9. Backup support for other plant applications.  

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Agile mind-set and understanding.
  2. Ability to mentor and coach peers.
  3. Documentation and visualization skills with strong ability to communicate complex aspects within area of specialization.
  4. Ability to work with ambiguity and continuously converge towards wanted solutions.
  5. Problem solving skills with ability to evaluate and solve complex problems
  6. Good oral/written English skills.  

 

Competence Required:

  1. Familiar with manufacturing process and good knowledge of the MES maintenance.
  2. Good knowledge and experience with Windows Server, Linux, OpenShift and oracle DB, Automobile industry background and JAVA/Python development.
  3. Familiar with data visualisation and Power BI development experience are plus.
  4. Being curious and open-minded.
  5. Continuous striving to develop skillsets by networking internally and externally.
  6. Being willing and curios towards developing a T-shaped profile by expanding knowledge into one or more other specializations.
  7. Understanding, applying and following agile team principles and ceremonies.
  8. Understanding and showing an interest in the user needs and user journey for the product teams outcomes.
  9. Excellent communication, relationship skills and a strong team player.
