Job Purpose:

We are seeking a talented Senior Strategy Analyst to join our Strategy & Partnerships team. VCTech’s Strategy & Partnerships team is responsible for identifying and promoting strategic direction, partnership opportunities, and new business & service offerings across Volvo Cars’ business activities, focused on areas such as digital business, in-car user experiences, electrification, autonomous vehicles amongst others. This professional will be a key business partner to senior leadership and will work on problem areas highly visible at the most senior levels of Volvo Cars. The ideal candidate enjoys diving deep into complex problems, works effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in an automotive OEM environment.


The selected candidate will be part of a small, collaborative team that values authentic, strong-willed individuals who think creatively and proactively look for growth opportunities. The selected candidate will support the Digital and R&D business units and senior leadership by conducting industry and market research, performing due diligence, creating business models, developing strategic recommendations, and building both internal and external relationships.


This position is based in VCTech’s R&D office in Sunnyvale, CA.


What You Can Bring

  • Lead the evaluation and execution of strategic initiatives, including strategic projects & partnerships
  • Source, research, and recommend potential M&A, investment, and strategic opportunities
  • Perform opportunity evaluation and assessment
  • Build financial models and business cases
  • Effectively partner with cross-functional teams and business unit colleagues
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to business unit leaders and senior management
  • Monitor and assess market participants and trends in the gaming, interactive entertainment, and related sectors


Key Competencies/Abilities:

  • MBA required; preferably from top-tier institution
  • 4+ years of work experience with a minimum of 2 years in management consulting, corporate strategy or similar
  • Excellent financial analysis and valuation skills
  • Excellent business sense and ability to understand and resolve complex business issues
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills and ability to interact and influence across all levels within and outside the company
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • A strong personal interest in the mobility, electrification, and AD spaces


Other Qualifications:

•    Ability to manage multiple projects

•    Ability to clearly communicate and present to executive management

•    Ability to assimilate and work with multiple business units within the company

•    Strong understanding of corporate finance and financial modelling best-practices

•    Collaborative and team player
