About the role

In our setup, the Product Manager and Scrum Master make a powerful duo running the product team. The Product Manager ultimately decides what value should be delivered by the team, and the Scrum Master is accountable for making sure the team turns those decisions into tangible, timely, high-quality deliverables – in turn creating value for Volvo Cars and a sense of delight for our customers.


This role is onsite in our Sunnyvale, California location, where you will be working with multiple product teams helping to build global digital consumer products in the ecommerce space.



  • Manage and facilitate end-to-end Scrum process for multiple product teams
  • Drive software development efforts and manage priorities for product development throughout the complete software development lifecycle, from design through release
  • Collaborate and align with other scrum masters and program managers on global strategic initiatives to ensure one cohesive delivery plan
  • Manage risk by proactively driving cross-functional leads to identify and unblock issues, track and resolve cross-team dependencies
  • Be the spokesperson for your teams on project status
  • Drive the successful delivery of projects for your team, balancing priorities and resources in collaboration with the Product Manager
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making and conflict resolution
  • Assist with internal and external stakeholder and partner communication
  • Build a trusting, safe environment where team members feel empowered
  • Coaches the team to improve collaboration and self-organization



  • 5+ years of experience in a delivery lead, agile coach, scrum master, QA lead, engineering or similar role
  • Project and/or scrum certification - PMP/CSM
  • Strong leadership experience in coordinating efforts across multiple locations and time zones
  • Experience in Navigating and exerting influence in a non-hierarchical organization
  • Excellent communication, mentoring and servant leadership skills
  • Experience working in matrix environments and fast growth organizations
  • Track record of working on the delivery of complex consumer and/or ecommerce products and services
  • Experience of conflict resolution, continuous team improvement and empowerment
  • Knowledge of multiple approaches and techniques in the agile space – Scrum, Kanban, Agile
  • Knowledge of working with JIRA, confluence and other scrum management tools
