Job Purpose

We are looking for Data Scientists who are passionate about creating the state-of-the-art technologies and their applications! You will play a key role in the team by supporting the cross-discipline functions and leading the development of advanced analytics to ensure world class customer satisfaction and quality performance.

 

We are open to mid and senior-level candidates! Position will be based out of our Sunnyvale, CA R&D facility!

 

What You Can Bring

  • Support the development of interesting new proof of concepts. Identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions. Use large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.
  • Ability to explain the results to colleagues and management and put it into a Volvo Cars context.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Develop A/B testing framework and test model quality.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Conduct research of state-of-the-art data science
  • Communicate and mentor team members

 

Who You Are

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics or closely related fields with 5+ years of industrial experience; or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics or closely related fields with 2+ years of industrial experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing using program languages including Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript
  • 5+ years of experience developing using software and platforms including Kafka, Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, Spring Boot, AWS, and Tableau
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with backend development
  • 5+ years of experience working with real world big data projects
  • 3+ years of experience working with deep learning frameworks including Tensorflow or PyTorch

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics or closely related fields with 5+ years of industrial experience
  • 3+ years of experience with online sales and order management system
  • Records of published research in peer-review conferences or journals
