What you’ll do:

In this role, you will take ownership of the design system, driving it’s evolution to meet the dynamic needs of our users and business. You will work on everything from creating reusable components that streamline the design and development process to design guidelines and recommendations. Your expertise will also be key in supporting other designers with adoption and contribution to the system.

Besides the responsibility for the enterprise design system, you will be contributing to the visual identity and UI consistency for applications built on our new enterprise platform, Connect.

Key Responsibilities:

Driving the discovery, direction and creation of visual identity and guidelines tailored for in-store products as part of the alliance community. Ensure scalability, flexibility, and easy of use across use cases and touch-points.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to create a seamless and consistent user experience. Facilitate effective communication between design and development teams to ensure alignment.
  • Component design and documentation: Design and maintain a library of reusable UI components and patterns. Document design choices and guidelines to ensure clarity and consistency across the team.
  • Accessibility and inclusivity: Integrate accessibility standards into the design system, ensuring that all components are inclusive and meet WCAG guidelines. Advocate accessibility throughout the design process.
  • Support and advocacy: Support other designers and promote the adoption of the design system within the organization. Advocate for design system methodologies and encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Continuous improvement: Regularly assess and refine the design system to accommodate new requirements and technological advancements. Stay up to date with industry trends and incorporate best practices into the system.

Who you are:

  • Proven experience in user experience, product, or visual design, with a strong focus on creating and evolving design systems for enterprise environments.
  • Extensive experience in a design systems role, with a proven history of designing, building, and maintaining large-scale design systems.
  • Experience in working with UX/ UI for large touch-screens and tablets.
  • Expert-level knowledge of design tools such as Figma (mastering Figma’s latest techniques to build a scalable design system and bring the components closer to front-end code), along with experience in design token management and automation tools (e.g., Token Studio, GitHub, Frontify).
  • Good understanding of front-end development principles and technologies, including CSS, React, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Significant UI/UX design skills with a keen eye for detail and interest in creating clean, modern interfaces.
