Senior E-commerce Business Development Manager - Global Online Experience

We are building up Volvo Cars online sales capabilities and driving the shift towards direct consumer sales. Our aim is clear – to provide customers with modern, flexible and hassle-free ways to own a car, whether through a Care by Volvo subscription, lease, loan or cash. By that, shaping the future of the automotive industry.

 

What we offer

Global Online Experience is the division within Volvo Cars responsible for online sales. As of today, we are active with the all-inclusive car subscription Care by Volvo in Germany, Netherlands, Norway, United Kingdom, United States, and Sweden. We have also made it possible for consumers to buy our fully electric vehicles online. We are now looking to expand our online offerings and e-commerce capabilities further. Volvo Cars' ambitions and plans within E-commerce are high which puts great demand on building up capabilities and competence. We are therefore looking for Business Developer specialized in E-commerce to join our team.

 

What you’ll do

You will be part of the team driving the strategic work of deciding what to launch and in what markets. It includes expanding offers and capabilities in existing markets as well as figuring out what future markets to launch. You will do this by researching market potential, customer requirements, growth potential, online maturity, market regulations, and legal requirements as well as our internal capabilities.

 

You will also be driving the work of executing on the set direction and strategies. The position includes setting project scoping, perform gap analysis, and manage certain implementation projects and also defining success metrics, interpret datasets and propose actions.

 

Since customer experience and online solutions are such an integer part of the offer and how it is experienced you will be a key driver of setting requirements on the digital user journey for purchase.

Besides doing the strategic groundwork you will also be responsible for continuously developing the online offer with more tactical activities to deliver on commercial targets. You will do so in conjunction with our marketing team, our digital product team, and the local country managers. To succeed in this job, it is essential to collaborate with specialists from local markets, digital development, pricing, and many more.

 

As our scope and team are growing at a fast pace you will be expected to resume ownership over a domain and drive strategic and tactical business development within that.

To succeed, we believe that your background and skills include:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in consulting, business development, or e-commerce
  • Extensive experience of business development within e-commerce with tangible results  
  • Practical experience of agile working methods, digital development, and e-commerce or digital consumer services.
  • Previous leadership experience
  • M.Sc. in Business or Engineering and strong academic track record

 

You also need to be a strong relationship builder with the ability to work towards senior stakeholders with excellent communication skills in English and if you speak additional languages, we consider it merit. You have a good ability to plan, manage and execute work within complex topics and projects and we believe you to be bold, have integrity and always keep the customers top of mind.
