Solution Architect - PLM

The Product Structure Lifecycle Management cluster is a part of the Vehicle Software and Installation organization within Digital, Volvo Cars. We are working closely together with other departments within Digital as well as with the R&D organization. In order to support our users to design, manufacture and sell cars, we develop and maintain applications that manage product structures for engineering, manufacturing as well as sales.

 

 

What you will do

As a Solution Architect, you will be the technical lead for Volvo Car's future PLM architecture within the Product Life Cycle Management cluster, ensuring that both software and hardware structures are efficiently managed with a focus on the creation of the next generation of vehicle software configuration. Part of your role will be the definition of the underlying data model, creating complete solutions within the PLM area together with other architects, realizing business requirements in IT solutions, and the definition of a technical roadmap.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving architecture within the product cluster;

  • Ensuring realization of solutions in accordance with operational requirements;

  • Creating a stable solution architecture that realizes the system's functional requirements and quality attributes;

  • Ensuring that architectural principles are followed;

  • Ensuring that technical solutions are supporting the roadmap for each product team;

  • Driving and establishing a future proof architecture based on our architecture principles;

  • Being a subject matter expert within the PLM area;


The role is challenging, and you will develop your engineering as well as leadership skills. You will broaden your expertise in PLM, attribute work and gain a wide network within the company.

  • University degree, or equivalent in Software Engineering;

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken);

  • Strong understanding of Teamcenter capabilities and limitations;

  • Strong experience of PLM business requirements and PLM system development;

  • Automotive experience;

  • Team orientation;

  • Cultural awareness;

  • Agile mindset.
