Senior Analysis engineer, thermodynamic

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">This Sr. Lead <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">engineer<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> will lead p<span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">erforming <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">thermodynamic <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">analysis of various vehicle programs, and present analysis results to project team to balance vehicle attributes.


What You Will Do.

  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Set Thermo target for new car projects.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Set complete vehicle requirements and support work with Red books or Sustainability books (technical overall targets carried downstream the development)
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Sign-off at key vehicle milestones, including system mule, prototype, pre-production, and production build events
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Set climate wind tunnel verification plan, lead team to prepare for, and conduct wind tunnel tests.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Make engineering judgement based on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) results
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Using commercial tools perform 1D analysis of various powertrain components
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Support powertrain thermo system engineering with facts and experiences
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Collaborate with Exterior team and cross-functional support areas to ensure robust design and integration of active grill shutters and sub-systems
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Coordinate work with powertrain, systems and components, Interior and other functional teams
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Regular communication with HQ fluid attributes teams, document and present findings to cross-functional teams and management
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Act as a carrier of competence regarding Thermo within Volvo China R&D
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Secure up-to-date competence in continuity with training and seminars, both external and internal
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Drive investments in software, computational capacity and new technologies

<span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">You And Your Skills.

  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">MS in <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">mechanical engineering with specialty in heat transfer, thermodynamics & fluid mechanics.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">5+ years of experience in automotive <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">thermodynamic <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">area including at least one full product lifecycle from concept through production for HEV, PHEV or BEV<span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Full understanding of vehicle thermal management concepts, including flow architecture, heat rejection methods, and basic climate control functions
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">EV Thermal system component, vehicle level testing experience is highly beneficial
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Experience of 1D software such VSIM
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Excellent knowledge of CFD
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Familiarity with geometry creation, simplification and data management within CAD software, preferably CATIA
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Experience with wind tunnel testing
