Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and politically-astute Public Affairs & Community Relations Manager to lead outreach and advocacy on behalf of M, developing impactful partnerships with city officials and community leaders across the North East, USA.


Our ideal candidate is well-versed in public policy and city initiatives, with an emphasis on transportation, environment, and new urban mechanics. With an in-depth knowledge of the area and its key stakeholders, you understand what makes each neighbourhood unique and how to connect on a community level. 


As a part of the founding market team, you will help to build our presence in the area and develop our public affairs practice in the USA. This role reports directly to the Managing Director, USA.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Understand the vision and needs of North East cities by building relationships with individuals working in transportation, environment, urban planning, and economic development.
  • Work closely with city governments, neighbourhood associations, and community organizers to communicate the M offering and coordinate community engagement activities.
  • Stay up-to-speed on all things mobility, including research, public policy, and regulatory/legislative matters around shared mobility, climate action, and vehicle electrification.
  • Shape our public policy and advocacy agenda, working closely with market and global teams across progressive city planning, communications, and services design.
  • Regularly update our global executive team on public affairs and city developments


To catch our eye, you have most of the following…

  • 6+ years’ experience working in public affairs, government relations, and/or transportation sector
  • An intimate knowledge of the political process in North East and an established network in the area
  • Ability to regularly source and synthesise large swaths of information, pulling out and reporting on key points and opportunities amidst ongoing political developments
  • Ability to manage various projects on time and within budget
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit is a plus!
