Enterprise Digital is a function within Volvo Car Group CED with the task to develop and operate IT services and solutions.

 

As a Senior Infrastructure Technical Specialist you will develop and support solutions across the entire spectrum of infrastructure technologies including hosting, network, and end-user services meeting the needs of the Volvo Commercial companies in Region Americas. As described, the role will support a variety of tasks and requires a broad technical skillset and associated experience in large enterprises. In this role, you will coordinate the development and delivery of IT-related infrastructure and end-user services with external vendors and contractors. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interface with the Regional and Global CED teams in the delivery of seamless end-to-end infrastructure services.
  • Promote and maintain a quality operational environment adhering to audit and security policies best practice guidelines.
  • Provide local support for the infrastructure and clients at all Volvo Commercial sites in the US. 
  • Interface with global Support and Maintenance (SUMA) teams to provide support for local and global hosted applications.
  • Perform troubleshooting and fault analysis in accordance with the CED Incident process along with root cause analysis utilizing Problem Management.  
  • Coordinate and assist in the roll-out of new solutions and services to the commercial companies.
  • Interface with local business stakeholders regarding future Digital requests and register them in the appropriate Demand Management Tool for processing.  
  • Interface with internal and external suppliers during requirement specifications to secure alignment with business expectations (“end-to-end”).

 

Key Competencies/Abilities:

  • Broad technical experience and knowledge across all infrastructure disciplines including but not limited to: cloud and premise hosting, network, telephony, and client technologies.
  • Multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Self-directed, organized and results oriented with a structured approach and analytical mind-set.
  • Quick Learner with a proven ability to learn new and changing technologies.
  • Strong personal leadership and integrity - being able to work independently and in team(s).
  • Good communication skills; the ability to address technical colleagues and supplier personnel in writing and verbally in a clear, concise manner.
  • Good collaboration and relational skills; comfortable working with and leading other skilled professionals towards common goals.

 

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in an infrastructure technician position; preferably in a global corporate environment.
  • Experience managing and coordinating vendors and third-party resources. 
  • ITIL and other Industry certifications and memberships a plus.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar field from an accredited college/university.
