Residual Value Manager

Job Summary:           

The Residual Value Manager will be responsible to develop and oversee the residual value management process within Volvo Car USA. This responsibility includes modelling changes in the residual value of the lease portfolio on an ongoing basis as well as managing wholesale pricing analytics. This position will work closely with Volvo Cars’ Finance, Product, Pre-owned & Remarketing teams, as well as Volvo Car Financial Services, in building and maintaining strong residual values through all stages of the vehicle life cycle.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of RV setting & portfolio risk assessment
  • Manage Senior Wholesale Pricing Analyst, jointly develop strategic analysis, and pricing recommendations/best practices
  • Ongoing statistical modelling to project residual values and identify risks & opportunities
  • Maintain a close relationship with 3rd party RV setters to validate and ensure correct residual value assumptions for Volvo Car USA
  • Guide product management team on RV impacts of pricing and contenting decisions
  • Maintain monthly residual value reporting and present to stakeholders/management
  • Manage relationship with Central Risk team, deliver portfolio reporting and stress testing
  • Optimize value retention through decision support of vehicle trims and contenting, remarketing, and portfolio management
  • Provide recommendations and analysis for pull ahead programs
  • Provide analytics and pricing support for all used vehicle channels, Off-Lease, Off-Rental, Company, etc.
  • Develop and maintain wholesale market price algorithm, optimizing coefficients and adding/removing appropriate variables
  • Provide analytical support to pre-owned/remarketing teams
  • Support field staff in messaging pricing methodology, overall remarketing strategy, and specific unit pricing
  • Drive organizational awareness of RV risk management strategies and concerns
  • Support emerging group brands in integrating RV concepts into business model and operations

 

Key Competencies/Abilities:

  • 8+ years' experience in a related role
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to develop and utilize statistical models
  • Ability to perform advanced level of data analysis
  • Working knowledge of product competitive sets and broader automotive industry
  • Ability to present technical concepts in a clear & concise manner to varied audiences
  • Experience in residual values and automotive/financial services industry strongly preferred
