Job Summary:   

 

  • The purpose of the Americas Information Warehouse project is to improve analytics at Volvo to enable better decision making.  We will be transitioning away from using outdated, legacy system reports and will build out a data warehouse to support interactive business intelligence/analytics using PowerBI.

 

  • The Business Intelligence Summer Associate will be a key functional member of the Americas Information Warehouse project and this will be a highly visible stakeholder facing role.  Responsibilities will span the full lifecycle.  He/she will assist the team with requirements analysis and design, work with developers to develop and test the analytics solution, and create training materials to ensure stakeholder adoption.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with stakeholders in multiple Product Areas to identify KPIs and gather business requirements for reporting
  • Analyze existing report inventory and recommend ways to consolidate and improve reports
  • Create design deliverables for new reports and dashboards
  • Test reports to ensure optimal user experience and data quality
  • Investigate and solve data discrepancies
  • Assist with putting together training materials for change management

 

Key Competencies/Abilities:

 

  • Effective verbal and written communicator
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint presentation creation
  • Excellent organizational and follow through skills; attention to detail and deadlines
  • SQL and prior analytics experience is preferred
  • Working towards BS or Graduate degree in Information Management/Technology or Business preferred
