Job Summary:   

As a Data Integration Engineer on our solution architecture team within the CED team, you will be an integral contributor to the digital transformation of Volvo Cars USA, a leading disruptor in the automotive industry. You will create flexible, modern data integrations using the Mulesoft enterprise platform. You have a broad data integration and software development background with the flexibility to work across business domains, technologies, and roles. You have the ability to adapt to change efficiently, balancing priorities and meeting deadlines. You will deliver projects and enhancements to meet business demands and perform troubleshooting to facilitate smooth operations.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, implement and document APIs/Web Services solutions to integrate disparate internal and third-party business systems using Mulesoft, and other enterprise and legacy technologies
  • Use best practices to develop reliable, scalable, and high-performance solutions
  • Focus on designing and building reusable integrations, producing repeatable, high-quality results
  • Engage actively with CED colleagues to analyze and understand integration requirements and design specifications
  • Create and maintain design and flow documentation, supporting the full software development lifecycle
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production Mulesoft environment
  • Develop and improve existing procedures and standards
  • Identify inefficiencies and gaps in data integrity, system security, and performance
  • Support enterprise integration strategy, road map, and governance
  • Follow established change control processes

 

Key Competencies/Abilities:

  • Minimum 5 years of data integration development experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience building integrations on the Mulesoft platform
  • Automotive industry knowledge preferred
  • Experience in a matrixed environment supporting multiple products/projects simultaneously
  • Strong experience in all aspects of the software lifecycle including design and testing
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Ability to collaborate with teams and individuals throughout CED
  • Proficiency in one or more enterprise data integration platforms
  • Experience in OOP (Java preferred) and SQL
  • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent analytical problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems from an accredited college/university
