Job Summary:

The Strategy and Business Development Specialist reports to the Senior Manager, Business Strategy within the Customer Service business unit. This person is responsible for supporting the development and execution of the United States Customer Service Business Strategy. In addition, this role is responsible for managing all operational activities around Volvo Car USA’s tactical incentive program, leading the functional improvements of our dealer facing performance reporting tool and conducting rigorous (ad-hoc) analysis to support executive management decision making.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and refinement of the department’s mid-term to long-term US strategy, incl. business strategy and strategic spare parts pricing frameworks
  • Support the creation of VCUSA’s annual business plan process incl. calculation of our annual revenue targets
  • Optimize VCUSA’s performance terms and manage the day-to-day operations of our dealer facing tactical incentive program
  • Support the creation and operational execution of our departmental performance reporting strategy
  • Design rigorous, fact based analysis using spreadsheets, database tools, statistical analysis and process mapping in order to support strategic decision making
  • Conduct analyses utilizing assumption testing and sensitivity analysis
  • Help craft critical corporate or partner-facing communication and presentations to deliver clear, compelling stories

 

Key Competencies/Abilities:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a top tier university within a discipline requiring a strong analytical aptitude such as economics or engineering
  • One (1) to three (3) years of work experience within consulting, motor vehicle, or strategic planning
  • Outstanding analytical abilities
  • Experience with analytical modelling, statistical analysis, and optimization with ability to translate analyses into implications and the “so-what” for the business
  • Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal
  • Outstanding proficiency within Excel and Access, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with range of people with different styles, backgrounds, and experiences and to drive these teams to action, even without formal authority
  • Courage to stand up for own perspective, even when it may not be the most common opinion
