Job Summary:    

This position is responsible for leading the Los Angeles Market Team to ensure that the Market objectives and Retailer targets in volume and profitability are met in Sales, Customer Satisfaction and Aftersales. The Market Manager is expected to be in Volvo Retailers on a daily basis, with 1 home/regional office day per week.   This market includes Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Luis Obispo. 



Principal Responsibilities:

•             Achieve Market Targets and Objectives for the following: Retail and Wholesale Car Sales, Market Share Targets, Parts and Accessory Sales, retailer CPO sales, Customer Satisfaction, and Digital Marketing Targets and Lead Response. These are                        Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Targets.

•             Work with and provide guidance to Retailer Principal and Retailer Management to achieve Retailer and VCUSA combined objectives. Develop improvement plans as needed where shortfalls are noted. 

•             Manage and prioritize Market Team activities to align wholesale, retail and aftersales objectives.

•             Monitor and address work to improve Retailer Customer Satisfaction Processes, and if needed address and resolve cases of extreme customer dissatisfaction.

•             Act as point of contact for retailer staff for Volvo related questions.

•             Manage market implementation of Volvo sales and marketing plans and  programs, activities, standards, support, tools and product training.

•             Provide market input on National/Regional programs.

•             Monitor Retailer and Market Team performance against Annual Business Plan and objectives and take corrective action steps to improve performance.

•             Provide guidance and management AMM who reports to MM, and guidance to RPEM.  Identify market team training and skill development needs.

•             Define Retailer improvement programs based on Annual Business Plan and Mystery Shopper.



Competencies/Experience/Skills Required:


•             Strong leadership abilities (coaching, teaching, developing others) – demonstrated success.

•             Results oriented – works towards goals, setting high standards for self and others.

•             Ability to analyze issues and data systematically and utilize this information to develop strategy.

•             Ability to utilize a PC to communicate, analyze data, track trends, and retrieve relevant information.  Use of Microsoft Office Suite

•             Ability to communicate, both written and orally, on a professional level

•             Broad knowledge of Wholesale Sales, Distribution, Business Management and Marketing experience, which is usually acquired through a combination of education (Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience), Master’s degree preferred, and                   at least 7-10 years of Business Management experience.
