Manufacturing Engineering Stamping is a global function with responsibility to launch new car programs and processes in Volvo Cars' plants as a part of Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering.

Our mission is to develop and implement sheet metal stamping processes for new car models within Volvo Cars. The operative location for this role will be in Olofström but with a global responsibility.

What you’ll do
As an Area leader for CAE development you will be the leader of business user groups for different CAE applications such as Catia, Team center and other applications vital for ME Stamping deliveries. You will support and coach team members within the user groups in their common development of working methods always striving for cross functional solutions supporting overall ME Stamping deliveries. You will have the ownership to structure activities within the user groups in an Agile set up securing approval for resources from line organization management prior to start up and coordinate report out through demos.


You will create and govern our strategy and an ideal state regarding CATIA development and equipment documentation storage development. When analysing the GAP from current state towards vision you will identify and coordinate actions to close the GAP.

In your role you will also Coordinate education requests from user groups in agreement with line managers. Towards Digital you will act as ME Stampings single point of contact and manage user acceptance tests and approve result. Upon request you should be able to Act as project leader for isolated projects within area based upon capacity at time.

The work is conducted in cross functional teams consisting of members from all areas globally within ME Stamping and concerned roles from Stamping plants.


Do you fit the profile and have some of the following attributes?


  • M.Sc or B.Sc within mechanical engineering
  • Experience in CAE development
  • Experience in PLM systems
  • Experience in Catia V5 and Team Center
  • Experience from project Management
  • Knowledge from stamping die engineering or similar engineering processes
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
