We are looking for an inspiring, organized, data-driven and curious individual that can lead the project management and strategic coordination of what we call Project EDGE (“Enabling Data for Growth and Evolution @ Volvo Cars), within VCUSA’s Marketing Department’s MarTech, Direct (CRM) & Channel Marketing team.

 

Your Mission:

 

The automotive industry is fast paced and competitive, with constant innovation and new consumer expectations.  As the Senior Specialist, Marketing Technology and Operations, you will play a crucial role in our continued media transformation by supporting our MarTech Development and bringing our defined MarTech vision into Paid Media + CRM + Consumer Digital Experiences, across our various marketing business channels and tiers. The primary focus is managing the project’s established roadmap initiatives, ensuring all teams collaborate, innovate, and execute with excellence – while also implementing new processes and new ways of working.  Project EDGE will strengthen our consumer relationships by enabling faster, more personalized, cost efficient, timely, and relevant communications with smarter content, in a privacy-safe and responsible way.

 

What You Will Do:

 

  • Lead the project’s defined action plan, coordination, and development process.
  • Collaborate with management, business owners and Subject Matter Experts, both internal and external, to define, prioritize, and communicate the day-to-day activities of various governance and work teams to ensure success.
  • Lead project coordination from requirements definition through deployment, including estimation of expected scope, scheduling of initiatives, setting deadlines, and assigning team members to various deliverables
  • Help to develop program and project charters for the key defined initiatives
  • Analyze project progress including budgets, risks, and resource allocation, and when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and / or costs to ensure that project remains on track to meet business objectives and key results targets.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for all project communication needs. Work closely with Marketing, Digital, Compliance, Customer Experience, and other teams at VCUSA as needed.
  • Perform other Marketing Technology duties as assigned

 

 

 

 

Project EDGE Coordination includes:

 

  • Serving as the air traffic controller for the overall MarTech Project, directly supporting both the Director of MarTech, Direct (CRM) & Channel Marketing, and the project’s MarTech Manager
  • Moderating and facilitating regular governance meetings, including meeting focus, sourcing pre-read material, crafting agendas, keeping meeting minutes and consistent follow-up after the meeting to ensure all action items are addressed
  • Business Planning, Tracking, and reporting of all recommended initiatives on the Project EDGE Roadmap in the areas of Data, Marketing Technology, Marketing Capabilities and Analytics, including the development and maintenance of a Project Management Scorecard / Progress Tracker
  • Maintain full documentation of each initiative in the project future state roadmap within a Microsoft Teams channel and internal website to help communicate and share best practices with stakeholders

  • High degree of business acumen, with understanding of global operating business models
  • Strong interest and understanding of the automotive industry and e-commerce, plus overall consumer trends

             

Skills Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • 5+ years of prior project management and / or communications experience, prior automotive OEM, e-commerce, or media / communications partner experience preferred
  • PMP or agile certification is preferred    
  • Proven ability to support cross-functional teams and provide project management support
  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form; leveraging these skills to negotiate and influence
  • Expert presentation and presentation building skills (e.g., PowerPoint and keynote)
  • Extremely versatile, high degree of productivity, detail oriented
  • Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
  • Empathy / listening / understanding
