Senior Wholesale Pricing Analyst
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the ongoing monitoring and development of Volvo Car USA’s used car wholesale pricing algorithm and adjustment matrix used to price vehicles within our remarketing platform. Responsibilities include liaising with the Remarketing and Finance teams of Volvo Car USA to develop and enhance pricing/remarketing strategy and analysis. It will also assist in the monthly preparation and presentation of the residual value reporting package.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor accuracy of wholesale market pricing algorithm and suitability of pricing adjustments throughout internal remarketing platform in order to mitigate residual value losses.
- Work closely with Remarketing to drive optimal price realization for off lease vehicles, communicate motive and analysis behind pricing updates, and incorporate organizational expert judgement into pricing management.
- Analysis to develop updates and improvements to pricing algorithm to increase accuracy and transparency.
- Help manage Iteration sales strategy and pricing to engage dealers, maximize prices, and keep vehicles within Volvo’s dealer network.
- Work with external vendor to implement algorithm and pricing matrix revisions and verify functionality and performance.
- Optimize and calibrate pricing model variables across vehicle models, model years, power trains, remarketing regions, options packages.
- Assist in remarketing platform performance tracking and reporting.
- Ad-hoc analysis to maximize off lease realized values and directly contribute to the bottom line.
- Monitor data integrity of both internal residual value metrics and external used vehicle sale results.
- Assist with ongoing development and improvement of monthly residual value reporting package.
Education:
- BA/BS in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field required
Experience
- 3+ years in depth analytical experience required
- Relational database query experience preferred
- Financial/statistical modelling experience required
- Automotive industry experience preferred
Skills
- Broad analytical skillset
- Proficiency manipulating and working with large datasets
- Financial/business acumen and quantitative expertise
- Ability to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations
- MS Excel proficiency, MS office experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to senior management
