Senior Specialist, Retailer Inventory Management

What we are looking for:

 

The Parts Operations team is in search of a new team member to oversee Volvo Car USA’s (VCUSA) Retail Inventory Management (RIM) program with the goal in mind to optimize retailer inventory health and maximize spare parts sales. At VCUSA, our team is focused on securing parts and accessories revenue in all primary and secondary sales channels and thus is contributing greatly to the overall financial success of Volvo Cars.

 

A day in the life:

 

For the US and Canada market, you will be responsible for the RIM program and become the Subject Matter Expert for the underlying RIM system. You will align all RIM terms and conditions with our internal goals as a VCUSA organization.

 

  • You will work closely with field team, retailers, and other internal stakeholders to identify and recommend improved functionalities to maximize the RIM systems’ effectiveness. You will maintain ownership of program improvements from conceptual design through implementation and training
  • To support our retailers, you will ensure robust VMI-related training materials are available and parts policies are regularly updated 
  • You will regularly oversee and maintain VR parameters to ensure retailer buy/sells are implemented correctly and new retailers are set up for success
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for retailer support as it relates to our RIM program
  • You will develop and monitor all retailer inventory related KPI’s to identify low performing retailers and present recommendations for retailer specific adjustments based on data
  • Represent Volvo Car USA at industry events and internal Volvo conferences as needed

 

What you will bring to Volvo:

 

  • You have a minimum of 4-5 years of Supply Chain, Merchandising, Field Operations, Logistics or Store Planning experience under your belt in addition to a bachelor’s degree in a discipline requiring a strong analytical aptitude
  • Fast learner with go-getter attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of management

 

You might also have:

 

  • A deep understanding of the motor vehicle service, parts and accessory business
  • Prior experience with Retail Inventory Management (RIM) programs within the automotive, heavy equipment and/or power sports industry
  • Ability to make decisions with limited supervision
  • Advance level proficiency in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience with AS400 mainframe systems
