Position Overview:
As a Sales & Service Operations Senior Specialist at Volvo Cars, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our platforms, ranging from legacy systems (AIX, IBM) to cutting-edge cloud environments (Azure, AWS). You will act as a bridge between the engineering manager, product owners, incident managers, and operations managers, working collaboratively to optimize our sales and service operations. Our engineering team is a diverse and inclusive team responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the critical backend solutions that drive our business processes. These solutions are the backbone of our operations and you will be a key contributor to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day computer operations, ensuring the smooth operation of our platforms and data integrity.
- Administer Linux and Windows systems, ensuring stability, security, and performance, including monitoring system health and troubleshooting issues.
- Being a point-of-contact for digital product owners regarding issues, opening and managing incidents in Service Now and ensuring root cause analysis and resolution delivery
- Provide technical support for applications critical to sales and service operations, resolving issues promptly.
- Develop and implement automation solutions to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain a range of platforms, including legacy systems (AIX, IBM) and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
- Explore migration options between on-premise and cloud solutions and develop a migration strategy.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and configurations
- Act as a liaison between the engineering manager, product owners, other incident managers, and operations managers to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5-7 years’ experience in Unix system administration, computer operations, incident management, and workflow analysis.
- Experience with incident tracking tool Service Now.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- Knowledge of web services development and APIs.
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
