Job Summary:    

At Finance, you are part of a global team that drives business & operational performance to realize the objectives set out in Volvo Car Group’s Corporate Strategy. In cooperation with colleagues in other business units worldwide, you and your team provide financial expertise in accounting and reporting processes such as PTP, OTC and RTR. This role will be responsible for supporting the accounting and reporting responsibilities within the Americas Region. The primary responsibilities of this role will focus on accounting for cars sold with repurchase arrangements, residual value guarantees, company cars accounting, cars sold to rental companies and new business arrangements which require accounting assessments and recording. Additionally, this role will act as a support to our shared service centres and operations when it comes to accounting for fixed assets, leases and inventory. This individual will ensure accounting transactions are aligned with Corporate Governance to safeguard the integrity in our financials. This role is vital lead in areas of responsibility for close cooperation with other Finance colleagues both at our Americas center in NJ, our Shared Service Center in India, our Global Accounting Center in Spain, as well as functions at the headquarters in Sweden.


What you’ll do?

Main responsibilities:

•    Ensure all journal entries are processed and drive the month end closing/reporting activities within assigned area of responsibility
•    Execute financial reporting into a global system for group consolation purposes as it relates to relevant areas
•    Perform account reconciliations and relevant control activities to secure complete and accurate financials
•    Investigation and analysis of accounting discrepancies and interact with the required department to resolve them.
•    Provide accounting expertise to the organisation as it relates to new business setups, review of actuals, and the impacts of transactions
•    Lead different projects in the areas of responsibility to develop new business setups and knowledge
•    Support the continuous development and harmonization of processes to maximize accuracy and efficiency for assigned areas of responsibility
•    Interface with external auditors and other consultants as necessary

•    Monitor changes in IFRS, local US GAAP and Group Accounting Policies as they relate to assigned area of responsibility
•    Early in adapting & applying latest technology available to automate finance & accounting activities

Who are we looking for?

•    University degree in Accounting or equivalent with approximately 5 years of relevant experience from international organizations
•    Exceptional abilities that make you special than the rest, high drive to lead positive change 
•    Excellent knowledge of Finance processes and policies and full ability of applying these in daily operations
•    Ability to work and be comfortable in a dynamic environment under continuous development 
•    Proactive with great interpersonal skills and communicate in a clear and direct way, drive results while building trust and relations within the organization
•    Tech-savvy, energetic with Can-Do mind-set and eager to lead
•    Fluent in English, verbally and written. 


System Competences
•    MS Office 365 applications, SAP experience is a plus.
•    Knowledge of automation tools (robotics and others) is preferred.
