Regional Head of Security, Americas

Your mission


As our regional security manager for the Americas, you will use the depth of your experience and knowledge to lead our security support to the region. This will require you to engage on a variety of security areas. Your mission will be two-fold. Parts will be driven by the support needed and business priorities within the region. At the same time, you will lead security projects and develop governance, some of which will be implemented globally.  Your day-to-day activities may be both strategic in nature or operational.


You are the key to building and maintaining our security brand and competence within the region. You will guide how we deliver security now, and how we grow to ensure that we continue to protect the company into the future.


You will be joining our global security team who set the company’s security standards, best practice and directly support security operations across the company. You will also have your own network of security contacts within the region that you will lead and guide to ensure we address security risks.   


Your Responsibilities.


The Regional Security Manager will have broad responsibilities for Volvo Cars security and crisis management in the region. Including;


  • Work as part of the global Corporate Security team to constantly improve the company’s security culture, practices and effectiveness
  • Contribute to the development of Volvo Cars global corporate security strategy, policies and the sharing of best practices across the Volvo Cars Security network
  • Fostering productive working relationships with both internal and external partners
  • Standardise and create synergies in security management across our sites in the region
  • Develop security programs, policies and procedures within the region to protect our people, sites, assets, ideas and future vehicle programs
  • Engage and work with senior leaders and cross functional teams to champion security
  • Build resilience into Volvo Cars supply chain security and supplier base, with particular focus on Mexico
  • Bring an all-hazards approach to crisis planning and preparedness; coordinate our crisis management and capability in the region.
  • Ensure that Volvo Cars security planning and mitigations are compliant with local requirements
  • Direct, lead and resolve investigations of security incidents and, liaise with law enforcement on operational and strategic matters
  • Use risk and vulnerability assessments to inform Volvo Cars understanding of security trends and needs
  • Lead our people security programs across the region, including for travellers in high-risk areas.
