Volvo Car USA is looking for an experienced Digital Product Owner to grow our online sales business and continue our digital transformation.  

The Product Owner, Online Sales (IT, Ecommerce)"will manage digital commerce applications on volvocars.com  in the US market.  The role is responsible for the product roadmap and leading a development team to implement innovative car shopping experiences online.


This role is based from our Volvo Car USA headquarters in Mahwah, New Jersey and reports to the the Senior Manager of Digital Products in the America’s Online Experience team.





  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and management to define product roadmaps for Online Sales on volvocars.com/us.
  • Design and document the product user journey, system integrations, and dependencies
  • Serve as technical expert for products in the Online Sales portfolio: Inventory search, vehicle ordering, and payment
  • Manage an Agile product backlog and organize roadmap into features and sprints
  • Manage Agile Development team/s to build features
  • Participate in quarterly program increment planning to align technical feature development plans
  • Participate in Agile activities with technical teams to develop and deliver product enhancements and support existing features
  • Partner with digital platform managers from Volvo global to communicate US market needs and champion regional business objectives
  • Aid in research and web analytics to create strong business cases and data driven decisions. Create reports to measure product performance, track user behavior, and identify opportunities for improvement 
  • Work with retail network team to integrate dealer sites with the Volvo digital ecosystem
  • Provide operational support for online sales issues that cannot be resolved by helpdesk


All candidates must have the following:

  • 4-7 years minimum product owner and/or project management experience for major brands
  • Experience working on web sites or applications with transactional/ecommerce functionality 
  • Experience leading an Agile product team.
  • Ability to organize requests and prioritize according to business need
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work and lead remotely
  • Understanding of modern digital technologies, tools, and platforms
  • Effective presentation skills and experience engaging audiences of all levels
  • Strong UX design sensibilities


Preferred candidates will have the following:

  • Automotive industry experience
  • Experience building or managing applications on the Salesforce platform
  • Global business experience
  • Experience managing third-party resources and teams (USA/off-shore)
