Digital Product Owner, Online Sales

Job Purpose

Volvo Cars is launching new ways to purchase and drive a Volvo, and solutions must be created to deliver a strong dealer and customer experience. Overall, we are designing an architecture that is prepared to meet our future business needs and enables the development of interfaces to develop new services and exchange of information.

 

The Digital Product Owner, Online Sales will work within the Volvo Cars USA Online Business team to build the digital product roadmap for supporting the Americas’ online sales, with a specific focus on simplifying dealer/OEM processes.

 

The product roadmap will require fresh thinking and create new applications as well as updates to existing back-office solutions.  These applications (built in Salesforce and others) will enhance key digital touchpoints with Volvo retailers (backend) and enable an exceptional omni-channel customer experience.

 

What You Can Bring

 

  • Maintain and develop digital product roadmaps together with engineering, and Americas Online Business team, for local implementation of backend order processing solutions.
  • Own, prioritize, and facilitate the refinement of product backlog to ensure that the Agile development teams are delivering the right enhancements to drive consumer/retailer and business value.
  • Work with teams across the organization to realize the vision by executing the prioritized backlog in a clearly defined and agreed upon schedule.
  • Monitor product performance and pursue optimizations and enhancements, within specified time schedule and budget.
  • Ensure the quality of releases, test and validate that the requirements are met, and sign off on deliverables before go-live.
  • Strive for continuous improvement and seek the best ways of working.
  • Drive engagement and create value with backend solutions that serve dealership employees as well as Volvo field employees.

  • Ability to use customer insights to drive and guide the development of products that   maintain effective customer relations and enable valuable service offerings
  • Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills utilizing an analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Comfortable managing multiple deliverables while working well in high-pressure situations and ability to change focus quickly as priorities change

What We Are Seeking:

 

  • Ability to drive results with cross-functional partners across various functions (developers, business stakeholders, product and marketing teams, etc.)
  • Strong communication and relationship skills with the ability to facilitate and convince key stakeholders
  • Independent, self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and can-do attitude with the ability to have a grand vision, but still comfortable with working at detail level
  • Must be comfortable being a leader able to influence across functional and technical teams spread globally.
  • Candidates must be an Agile practitioner, and Design thinker.
  • Project management certifications or heavy experience (PMP or PMP-Agile) or plan to obtain certification, a PLUS. 
  • Fluent in English
  • Nice to have: Prior experience owning products based on the Salesforce.com platform
  • Nice to have: Prior experience with digital transformation projects.

 

Qualifications

  • University degree in the field of Business and/or Technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a proven track record in Digital and/or e-Commerce environment; ideally with a Franchise, Manufacturing or Automotive Company.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
