The Connected Car team sits within our Digital organization and is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the connected vehicle experience within the Americas region. This includes working with our Android based infotainment, Volvo Cars mobile app and our existing legacy platforms.

 

As a Mobile Network Operations Supplier Lead, you will need to engage both your technical and business management skills. This position will be responsible for acting as a subject matter expert related to mobile networks and platforms. Including, validation of globally developed solutions as well as technical support resource for in-vehicle and cloud back-ends.

 

Together with our retailer network partners and customer service teams you will also be working to identify root cause of incidents or problems for Volvo customers or product teams. This can be through developing user aids or tools or proposing updates to existing workflows and processes.

 

Primary Areas of Responsibility:

  • Manage mobile network operators at a business-level, including change management, governance, and handling of invoices.
  • Report defects to third-party service providers, including mobile network operators, as well as internal engineering teams and oversee resolution of incidents.
  • Play a role in road mapping mobile network-related changes and test engineering for future products.
  • Update stakeholders of ongoing defect status, resolution efforts and results of testing.
  • Monitor, document, analyze and escalate quality issues pertaining to mobile networks and connectivity in close alignment with Digital Support and Quality Engineering team.
  • Design functional requirements-based mobile network test cases in various testing environments, including QA and user acceptance testing.

 

Do you fit the profile?

  • We are looking for someone with a degree in Information Technology / Systems, Engineering, or similar professional business-related work experience. Ideally you will have a few years of experience from a role within a technical support or operations team where you have built skills in testing and troubleshooting. You have experience from working with 3rd party suppliers with onboarding or supporting purchased services.

 

  • Your technical domain competence is within IP networks, cellular technologies (such as 3G/4G/5G), Android Operating System and a variety of Volvo tools and applications. As we will leverage data analysis, reporting and monitoring frameworks, it is an advantage if you can bring some experience there too. Clear and concise communication is necessary.
