IT Intern – Digital Cybersecurity

 

Job Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic technology intern to join our Digital and Online Experience (D&OX) team.  As an intern, you will work alongside our Digital Cybersecurity staff on a wide array of technology disciplines – web and mobile application security and privacy-by design, account administration, network & computer operations, and product vulnerability management. 

 

The intern will gain hands-on experience on how to deliver pragmatic yet strategic cybersecurity services to our company and a safe and secure digital product experience to Volvo Cars retailers and customers.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • With direction from the Americas Information Security Officer (ISO) and staff, complete daily tasks and assignments.
  • Assist in reviewing the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and implementing data protection controls.
  • Participate in D&OX product team and business partner engagements including product security architecture, risk, and business continuity assessments.
  • Review application and operational vulnerability/penetration tests and assist with vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to help with their cybersecurity needs.
  • Assist with documentation of cybersecurity-related policies and procedures.

 

Competencies/Experience/Skills:

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, elated field or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional business acumen.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office product suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Analyses, designs, plans, executes, and evaluates work to time, cost and quality targets.
  • Must be able to work in a confidential environment and with sensitive materials.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Past experience from internships, part-time employment, volunteer work, or military service a plus.

 

In order to be considered for this program, you need to be currently enrolled in a related Undergraduate degree program as a rising, Junior, Senior or anticipate graduating within the calendar year. Program is set to begin early June 2023.
