What We Are Looking For:

  • The FP&A/Fixed Costs team is in search of a Sr. Financial Analyst (Business Controller) who will play a critical role as an active business partner to the Advertising & Sales Promotion (ASP / Marketing) and Network/Customer Experience (CX) teams. This role requires an analytical individual who will be able to drive financial performance in a fast-paced environment. At Volvo Cars, the finance team is focused on promoting the culture and providing growth and development opportunities for its team members.


A day in the life:

  • Accurately consolidate, submit, and perform analysis of annual business plans, budgets and forecasts for ASP, Network/CX, and Other Income & Expense (OIE)
  • Provides analysis of financial performance vs. budget forecast and prior/sequential actual periods. Evaluate major drivers and fluctuation for period variances and other relevant benchmarks in a timely manner and review with local management
  • Build business partner relationships to work closely with business owners on understanding their expenses each month and coordinate monthly forecasts to be within the approved plan
  • Continuous maintenance and upkeep of full year profit outlook to bring awareness of changes and potential risks and opportunities to annual market earnings target
  • Accurately prepare, analyze, and submit monthly Global Online Business (GOB) financials
  • Drive financial rigor and discipline for strategic investments
  • Work closely with Financial Controlling team, support in special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed


What You Will Bring to Volvo:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/business related field
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems (SAP and HFM experience preferred), in addition to advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel & Powerpoint in particular), Power BI knowledge a plus
  • 3+ years relevant Experience in FP&A with analytical skills in financial data and excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Proven record of working with a team in a highly collaborative environment that spans across multiple business functions
  • Strong organization, and project management skills; ability to juggle multiple concurrent high-priority projects while meeting deadlines, being a team player, and seeking continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment
  • High standards of accuracy and precision, operational discipline, ability to deliver against tight deadlines
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail
