Shop Engineer, Trim & Final (VCK)

In this role, you will update and distribute shop master data, plan and balance line processes and layouts, and set efficiency targets. You will create standard documents, represent the shop in cross-functional teams with Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and Logistics, and act as the ME liaison during production. As a specialist in shop processes and products, you will support production with analysis, input during launches, and continuous improvement initiatives. Managing minor projects, conducting capacity investigations, and overseeing line layout and ergonomic solutions will also be key responsibilities. You will help eliminate waste, support line balancing, and participate in plant engineering projects. A Bachelor's degree in engineering, 5+ years of experience in automated OEMs, strong problem-solving skills, and willingness to travel occasionally are required. The main area of responsibility is Pre-Trim in Final Assembly Shop.


What you'll do?

  • Authority to update and distribute shop master data (e.g. Hours per Vehicle - HPV, Head Count - HC, Efficiency).
  • Line Rough Balancing, Process and Layout Planning. 
  • Authority to distribute shop efficiency targets, short & long term.
  • Create standard documents OIS (operator instruction sheet), Moving line charts.
  • Be the shop representative in the cross functional project teams together with ME and Logistics.
  • Be the shop interface towards ME in running production.
  • Be the shop specialists concerning process, also product (including Pre-prod work, Engineering buy-off for new programs), applicable for Final Assembly Car Plant.
  • Support production in their work with first line analysis when SE expertise is needed.
  • During launch provide necessary input from running production.
  • Support production in Kaizen Workshops/M3MU and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support production in reaching man hour targets for operations on running models and drive productivity improvements.
  • Minor non-product spending projects for current models in shop.
  • Investigate on capacity investigations (CIR) based on request from Plant Business Office.
  • Justify request (facts and figures) and introduce product and process improvement related investments.
  • Responsible for line layout (including material facade, placement of tooling) in running operation and in projects.
  • Secure the shop layout within the area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the high hurts process in the shop.
  • Coordinate the required manning needs for shop in running.
  • Participations in PE (plant engineering) investigations/projects.
  • Drive Best Practice Sharing Shop Engineering between the plants and within the plant.
  • Secure shop deliveries to plant annual process (strategies, targets, capacity and investments)
  • Responsible to secure good ergonomic solutions.
  • Drive elimination of waste of time, money, materials, man-hours, machine time, quality losses and other resources that do not generate value in shops.
  • Early involvement in the Process Design in line with the development of the Shop Vision for product and non-product projects
  • Support and help production in line balancing e.g. line speed changes and introduction of new products/processes.


Your background:

  • Educational background: Bachelor’s degree or above, major in engineering-related subjects.
  • Preferred experience with Pre-Trim area from an OEM environment
  • Experience requirement: More than 5 years of engineering experience in highly automation OEMs.
  • Have strong communication and coordination, problem solving ability, strong innovation ability and pressure resistance.
  • Quick leaner, good computer software skills, PPT master is a plus.
  • Excellent in English listening, speaking, written skills, and presentation. 
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on an occasional basis



The Salary for this position starts from 2.250 EUR, per month, brutto.

* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. The final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to the monthly salary, there is also a 13th salary paid in an aliquot amount and a performance bonus depending on the company's financial results and individual performance.
