Who will you report to?
The position is located at the Volvo Car Kosice plant and the main reporting line leads to Industrial Engineering Manager Propulsion Components.
What will you do?
- Utilize strong manufacturing engineering mindset and previous experience in the automotive industry to ensure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers;
- Being part of a global production team in our state-of-the-art Propulsion Shop, supporting new car project, setting up the new production plant in Kosice, Slovakia, global development work and running production;
- Develop and design your equipment and process area (Battery and/ or Electrical engine production);
- Create robust, efficient, and improved processes and equipment for Propulsion Components;
- Being responsible for the Robots, dispense system, welding system, and other joint system design, standard application, installation, and commissioning to achieve flawless launch according to project KPI requirement for Battery or EDU over time;
- Define our equipment, tools, and machines according to Volvo standards to fulfill defined product specifications;
- Contribute to the optimal set-up of the workstations and production lines;
- Improve the techniques & methods used by the team following the project through product development & feedback, quoting and buying the equipment as well as installing and commissioning;
- Take part in cost estimations, development of process concepts, supplier relations, continuous alignment with customers, etc.
What will you bring?
- Previous manufacturing engineering experience working on equipment projects (project lead/installation/commissioning) is mandatory;
- Previous working experience with sourcing process (internal & external relations in sourcing), laser and plasma application and Project management experience;
- Preferred engineering education: Mechanical/Mechatronic, Manufacturing, Automation, Electrical, or equivalent;
- Joint system knowledge;
- Problem-solving DMAIC knowledge;
- FMEA experience;
- Good understanding of Teamcenter, CATIA V5, Auto CAD;
- Conversational in English, written and spoken, and proficient in Slovak language;
- Ability and willingness to travel within and outside Europe, more frequently in the initial phase (2024), although based in Kosice, Slovakia;
- Not only an individual contributor attitude but also an ability to work within a multinational team;
- Self-starter and troubleshooting attitude, high level of communication skills, curiosity to learn new technologies;
- Analytic and engineering data reporting skills.

Monthly gross salary for this position starts from 2.200 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
