Transmission Engineering are responsible for delivering Automatic and Manual gearboxes, Shifter systems, Clutch systems, Drive shafts, AWD systems, EFAD (Electric Front Axle Drive) and ERAD (Electric Rear Axle Drive) to the Vehicle Propulsion projects.


The AWD team develop driveline components; power transfer unit, propeller shaft, rear drive unit, active on-demand clutch, drive shafts and corresponding dampers, bearings and brackets. We are about ten persons in the group, and we are now looking for you - who wants to develop a method for dimensioning the snap ring joint connection for splined shafts!


You will work in close cooperation with the world's leading system suppliers as well as our advanced engineering team in Gothenburg. This task is challenging due to high complexity as well as high level of technical content.


What you’ll do?

You will be responsible for developing a method for dimensioning the snap ring joint for splined shafts between drive shafts and gearbox or rear drive unit. The method shall be valid for all drivetrains, all power levels and regardless if they are hybrid or electric.


The main challenge is to define the ramp angles on drive shafts and sun gears, general tolerances, dimensioning of the circlip itself regarding, material, geometrical conditions and spring constant. Everything in order to make it easy enough to assemble but also hard enough to pull out to prevent failure during driving or causing any NVH issues.

To success in the role, you are well structured and analytical, you have well developed planning skills and are not afraid to get some hands on action in the transmission workshop. We see that you are a result oriented problem solver, with a positive mind set. You are self-managed while being a real good team player. Further, you are a skilled communicator, dedicated to contribute!



Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

CAD experience (CATIA V5, Team Center Engineering)

CAE experience

Fluent in English

Driver's license B



Driver's license BE (car with heavy trailer)

Experience of development within the automotive industry (Meritorious within Powertrain / Transmission area)

Hands on experience in a mechanical workshop
