System Safety Engineer

Everything we do starts with people.

Our human-centric focus is what makes us different from all other car companies, and it’s at the heart of everything we create. If you want to join us in our mission to make people’s lives less complicated, we offer you a chance to grow together with talented people who want to make a true difference.

What you will do

The ART Seats and Safety is responsible for functions, electrical systems, SW, HW and mechanical components of the seats, safety belts, steering wheel and airbags. The SW is built in-house or delivered by our suppliers. Most of the teams work with the mechanical design whereas one team, Function & Control, is responsible for all customer functions within the ART and the electrical system Seat Control. The ART Seats and Safety set up a Shared Service, serving the entire ART.

As a System Safety Engineer your focus will be on documentation, consultations and reviews in regards of System Safety and Cyber Security. To thrive in this position, you need to have a very good knowledge of the ISO and SAE standards, such as ISO 26262 (System Safety) and “Road vehicles—cybersecurity engineering,” as well as ISO 24089, titled “Road vehicles—Software update engineering”. One very important part of your role will be focusing on Cyber Security by setting processes, providing guidance and knowledge to your team members, since this is new to us. You will also take a big part in judging which systems and components are affected, and how, by System Safety and Cyber Security.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Expertise in System Safety
  • Review of the entire ART
  • Project management and follow up

Who are you?

You truly enjoy organizing your own work and even lay the structure for others. You like to work in a collaborative manner and share your knowledge on a high level and in detail. We believe you are an energetic, enthusiastic, result-oriented person, who can work independently and possess a sense of urgency. You have a M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Software Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or similar. But more important is your solid knowledge in System Safety and Cyber Security. Since we are a global company, fluency in English, written and spoken, is a must.
