At Volvo Cars, we are making bold digital visions come true. We aim to lead in the automotive world by creating a digital ecosystem built around making our customers' lives less complicated. Now we are looking for curious, creative people who want to change the world through innovative thinking.

What’s in it for you?
This role is within our Architecture & Software Hub team. Our team is driving, not only where our future digital architecture is headed, but also how we as a company engage with external developers, how we continue to evolve as a software company by embracing new technology, and basically reinventing Volvo Cars from within.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and grow a team of hardworking engineers through hiring, mentoring, inspiring, and feedback
  • Ensure through streamlined execution and experimentation that our solutions meet the needs of our customers quickly and accurately
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development and help develop and foster good engineering practices
  • Help ensure the solutions are scalable, sustainable, architecturally sound, and technical debt is both incurred consciously and repaid in a reasonable time
  • Be an active member of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders across the organization

Who you are

  • A person that loves leading, developing, inspire and growing an engineering team, and have previous experience doing so; you have been an engineering manager before this and know what it takes to build a phenomenal team
  • Someone that possesses a deep understanding of how to translate product and business goals into sound technical solutions, and can mentor your team in this
  • Very knowledgeable and passionate about modern software development that builds products our customers love
  • Before starting a technical leadership career, you have had extensive experience working hands-on as a Software Engineer in an agile environment
  • Someone that fully embrace a growth mindset, and can encourage others to do the same
  • A compassionate person who understands that every individual and situation has their specific needs, and can adapt your leadership style and interactions accordingly
  • Someone who likes to have fun at work, and takes great care in making sure everyone always feels welcome and included!

We offer our employees excellent benefits such as:

  • Plenty of leave to let you take time off for what’s most important in life
