Business Architect - Personal Products

We're creating our own future. So are you.

At Volvo Cars, we have bold targets when it comes to innovation, sales and customer experience, and we’re developing new technologies to lead in safety, autonomous driving and electrification. If you want to grow together with talented people who are creating a new automotive future, we have a job for you.

What do we offer?

While Volvo is pushing the boundaries on several fronts – autonomous driving, vehicle electrification, cutting-edge vehicle engineering design, and more – some of the most exciting action is happening in the Consumer and Enterprise Digital area.

We are uniquely positioned with our talent within CED to shape what’s next in automotive. We are taking consumer-facing technology around the driving experience to places most players are only dreaming about – and changing how people think about transportation as a result.

We’re fully committed to giving Volvo customers an entire week of quality time back per year already by 2025 through digital innovations that simplify their lives.

Within the enterprise, digital technology will provide vast opportunities to change the way we develop, produce and market cars. We are delivering leading enterprise products to power the digital future for Volvo Cars.

What’s in it for you?

Within Enterprise Digital a new Operating Model will be implemented enabling ED to increase flexibility, productivity and create a home for our experts. The model is centered around persistent teams focusing on business outcomes within product areas. People will belong to a chapter focusing on competence, career development and methods, and tools. We believe that this is the best way forward to empower our teams and delivery resources with an embraced agile mindset and culture. We are now looking for a Business Architect – Personal Products area.

What you’ll do

Provide business value to the product areas and clusters and be a key speaking partner to the stakeholders within the product area. You will be understanding the business needs and the requirements and develop our architecture roadmap for the future. You will also support our existing and future business models and set a solid multi-year architecture platform enabling new business capabilities supporting end-2-end business flows.

You will also…

  • Lead the architects within the product area and contribute to the architect community
  • Have alignment and coordination with other Business Architects
  • Be part of the product lead area leadership team and drive and set the architecture roadmap for the product area towards the Volvo Cars target architecture and the digital architecture principles.
  • Coordinate and drive the solution architects
  • Acting as a bridge between business- and information architecture and solutions, i.e. making sure that architectural artifacts are fit for purpose and that solutions are developed in accordance with business- and information requirements.
  • Architecture Subject matter expert product area/domain
  • Guide and support the product areas within the software and technology area

You and your skills

To be successful in this role you need to provide a strong business architecture understanding and have experience developing business models. You will have a good understanding about end to end architecture, the ability to apply a holistic view and big thinking, and yet be able to solve complex architectural challenges. You also have the ability to abstract logical thinking and representation, i.e. capture underlying meaning in what is being said and transform into an abstract model. This includes being able to challenge people in their established everyday view of things.

We also think you have problem-solving skills, are able to evaluate and solve a set of complex and unique problems. You have Enterprise (Information/Integration/Process-architecture) and Technical Architecture experience with the ability to break down strategic goals into concrete actions. You have experience with Cloud Adoption (IaaS, SaaS etc) and Microsoft product stack with knowledge about ServiceNow.

We think you share our passion for cars and development in the auto industry.
