Software Engineer - Manufacturing Execution Area

We are now looking for a Software Engineer for the Manufacturing Execution digital systems to strengthen our team with skills that help us bridge and transform technology and services for our manufacturing execution systems for our plants.

What you’ll do 

As a Software Engineer you will work to ensure the availability, scalability and reliability of our systems.  Solve interesting engineering challenges and problems as we grow.  The main responsibility is to ensure that the technical solutions developed within an application or application suite are technically sustainable and consistent with VCC application strategy.


  • Provide technical insights to the members of the scrum team. This includes you ensure that documentation is up to date and accurate as well monitoring that the solutions delivered by the scrum team complies to architecture and development guidelines. 
  • Turn ideas and designs into well-tested, modular architectures that are easily re-used
  • Refactor as you go and help others to always improve the codebase
  • Design solutions for enabling and improving configuration management for current and future Manufacturing Execution solutions.
  • Design solutions for enabling Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
  • Partner with suppliers, architects, engineers, developers, and internal stakeholders to provide guidance on upcoming and innovative technologies and standardization.
  • creating technical specifications for the team
  • updating and writing operational documentation
  • investigating new technologies to improve the software solutions developed
  • continually updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and external courses, reading manuals and similar


Do you fit the profile?

Are you self-driven, result oriented and flexible?  Are you highly organized and work in an orderly and structured way?  You can work under rapidly changing conditions and have the capability to identify, mitigate and decide on solutions when facing obstacles?  You have an analytical mindset and the ability to think ahead. 

  • Master of Science (M.Sc.) or equivalent experience in a relevant field (significant on the job training can be seen as equivalent).
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and written
  • General understanding of production processes and understand how all these things work together to make end user applications work and work well is a nice to have
  • Education and preferably some experience in agile development practices and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps or similar.

We are looking for an experienced Engineer with a proven track record.  We expect you to have solid knowledge of modern technologies and their associated methodologies and tools:

  • Understanding of multiple programming languages - at least 2 of these must be Java, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • excellent knowledge and experience with agile processes (Git, Safe / Scrum / ADO).
  • experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server etc.)
  • understanding of the web technology stack (e.g. HTML, HTTP, etc.) and modern web frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Knowledge about Azure Cloud is an advantage.
  • knowledge of back-end development (Node.js…) including data models, persistence layers, back-end services (REST API’s, ….), caching strategies and messaging.
  • knowledge of using docker containers and orchestration with Kubernetes.
