HVAC Engineer


For a specific Region – secure Real Estate projects that are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with law, legal requirements and Volvo Cars Standards and guidelines.

The area of intervention will be in the field of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire protection and energy production/distribution and piping for the building related installations, in the power plant, for the production plants, offices, etc..

Another area of intervention will be in the field of process media and process ventilation for process installations related to car projects.

New installations and the renewal of installations are part of the area of intervention.

Main Tasks   

  • Delivers pre-study, concepts and budget calculations upon request from the FM Management Team.
  • Delivers engineering and construction studies for the business unit.
  • Develops specifications & tender documents for construction and maintenance, or other facility management projects, by determining overall requirements in terms of project strategy, scope, budget, time, resource and technical content.
  • Leads and executes Facility Management projects, or equivalent for ME, MP&L, ....
  • Establishes and maintains cost control techniques for direct comparison to the allocated budget.
  • Establishes and maintains accurate progress control techniques for direct comparison to project requirements.
  • Leads the commissioning proces of the projects.
  • Maintains the records for all work, and works in conformity with company standards and procedures and legal requirements.
  • Creates and does the follow up of orders for engineering support within the different disciplines.
  • Understands the nature of contract variations and negotiates the implication of the variations  through a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Searches the market for new technology and best practises.
  • Works in close cooperation and builds good relationships with the different stakeholders of the projects (Purchase, Finance, Health and Safety, Environment, Maintenance,..) and with a strong costumer focus.




  • Secures the completion of the building and engineering projects within the set targets and according to the General Building Requirement.
  • Informs the stakeholders and manages the progress and any issue.
  • Handles his task within the project budget, through rigourous planning of Cost, Resource and Competence
  • Controlls and manages the project team members and the involved contractors.
  • Adapts the technical solutions towards local praxis for the benefit of the financial performance of the project.

Competence Requirements

  • Master of Science with engineering background in the technical area’s.
  • Skilled in leadership, project management and network management.
  • Skilled in documentation and the English language (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge regarding VCC administrative systems, procurement routines, standards and specification of the requirements
  • High knowledge in external contacts, contracting.
  • Experienced knowledge with in the area of HVAC and piping.
  • Team player within the Facility Management engineering team
