Right now, we have an exciting job opening for you in Vehicle Propulsion Department in China Product Creation, located in Shanghai, we are now looking for a driveline designer for Driveline and mounts team. This team is responsible for Vehicle Propulsion ERAD, Driveshaft, Propeller shaft, Gears, Mounts and All wheel drive related system and components in APAC area for both hybrid and electric vehicle.


We work in close collaboration with other function team and suppliers, develop propulsion transfer key component and system. It is important for us to have a transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders, to work together as one team and deliver according to Volvo Cars value and goals in principle of Volvo Culture.


The driveline designer, will play one of the key role within the team, to work together with the Product Owner and Scrum Master for designing, developing, and implementing solutions for Continuous Integrations into the car.


What will you do?

  • Create, Modify and Refine 3d and 2d model in CATIA environmental with the input and support from product owner and component owner of driveline and mounts
  • Release 2D&3D model into Volvo related systems for ex. Teamcenter, KDP on time
  • Collect design/change needs from all related component/product Owner by good cooperation and communication
  • Make design and release plan for the assigned project system and components
  • Join related meeting with cross functional team and supplier to deliver assigned tasks
  • Join Driveline and Mounts team daily stand-up meeting
  • Support PO/ScM and the component owner on other specific tasks


You and your skills:

  • B.Sc. or above degree in Mechanical design or engineering
  • 3~ 5 years working experiences especially working by CATIA design
  • Skilled in CATIA operation with 3D and 2D design and release. Teamcenter and drawing release system experience preferred
  • Self-driven to solve problem and proactively work with cross-functional team, result oriented mindset
  • Good at reading and writing by English
  • Driveshaft and all wheel drivel related component for ex. propeller shaft, power transfer unit, rear drive unit…
