Tax Senior

Responsibilities:

  • Calculate applicable tax depreciation amounts for the US Manufacturing Plant and other entities in the group
  • Assist in preparation of Federal Income and State Income/Franchise tax returns, extensions, estimated tax payments
  • Monitor changes in Federal, State and Local tax laws. 
  • Assist with gathering information needed in response to tax inquiries raised by the IRS and State tax authorities. 
  • Streamline the tax provision and compliance processes by working with Finance group to gather data needed for the tax provision and compliance process in an efficient manner.
  • Work closely with our outside sales tax consultants to determine correct amount of sales taxes due on our manufacturing entities sales tax return.
  • Prepare the quarterly and annual income tax provision for specific subsidiaries with the assistance of our Tax Manager
  • Respond to various notices from tax authorities
  • Special projects as needed

     

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Taxation
  • Experience preparing corporate Federal and Multi-State tax returns
  • 3+ years of tax provision and tax compliance experience 
  • Public company tax provision experience preferred 
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred 
  • Experience with Excel, Word, tax compliance software (Pro SystemFx preferred), tax research software & Fixed Assets software

 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience within a public accounting firm or in a corporate tax department. This tax professional should be well-rounded and familiar with various types of taxes (e.g. Federal income, State/Local Income/Franchise, familiarity with sales & use tax) as well as Accounting for Income Taxes.

 

We are looking for someone who has excellent analytical skills and enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment to support the continued success of the firm.

 

Must be punctual, well-spoken and positive, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments.
