Field Service Action Manager

Job Summary:   

To assure compliance of Volvo Field Service Action documents with US and Canadian Government agencies requirements (NHTSA & Transport Canada). This position is also responsible for Field Service Action implementation to all US and Canadian retailers, along with notifying NHTSA and Transport Canada of new Field Service Actions and specific government completion reports.  This position services as the Chair of the Field Service Action Team.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Field Service Action management.
  • Quality Bulletin Management – Local.
  • Manage Field Service Action Team
  • Coordinate the launch of Recalls, Service campaigns, extended warranties.
  • Prepare and submit defect notifications letters to Government agencies – NHTSA and Transport Canada, etc.
  • Coordinate with Volvo IT and Vendors to mail out customer notifications.
  • Field Service Action Monthly/Quarterly completion rate monitoring and reporting.
  • Re-launching of Field Service Action, when needed.
  • Submit Quality Bulletin Requests to Volvo Car Sweden, when needed.
  • Support Technical Review Committee (TRC) and make decisions as necessary to accomplish TRC objectives.

 

Key Competencies/Abilities:

  • College degree in engineering / Science or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience.
  • Able to travel up to 10%
  • Excellent knowledge of motor vehicle safety, product issues and automotive business.
  • Direct appropriate company resources to ensure all reporting data is valid.
  • Authority to accept, reject or question data information to support creation of valid reports.
  • Authority to create and implement preventative actions to ensure reporting timelines are met.
  • Ability to technically write and communicate effectively.
  • Represent Volvo at industry meetings
