Engineering Flow Lead

Plant Logistics Engineering Flow Lead 

  

The Flow Team is part of the Plant Supply Chain Engineering department within Material Planning & Logistics within a plant. The main purpose of the Flow Team is to continuously find, plan, prioritise and implement the best possible material flow within the given area. 

  

Job Duties: 

  • Approve and decide within given frames for Car & Non car Programs, CIR or the CAPEX process.  

  • Compose and control the logistic investment plan (connected to CAPEX, car projects budget, etc.). 

  • Implement and share Best Practice. 

  • Analyse Car project-, CIR- and Volume mix variation content and industrialise needed flow changes.   

  • Define and prioritise need of IT changes. Drive and make business requirements (including change requests), UAT specifications, participate and approve UAT’s. 

  • Perform the workforce balancing calculation. 

  

Principal Responsibilities: 

  • Prioritise and deliver activities and projects according to decided cycle plan (VPDS) and business plans within the budget and efficiency plans. 

  • Define Action plan for the area and set priorities together with operations. 

  • Document the needed Manning and corresponding Equipment. (Running) 

  • Follow up, analyse and make necessary actions on defined KPI’s. 

  • Define the best flow solution based upon Line Back Principles. 

  • Drive and support continuous improvements for flows and processes. 

  • Make plans for Manning and Equipment and other defined KPI’s. 

  • Secure implementation of new IT functionality and work procedures. 

  • Secure documentation of flows and processes. 

  • OIS and WES for new processes and flows. 

  • BMS. 

  • Support education of new processes.  

  • Secure logistic layout. Logistic layout vision and management (maintenance etc.). 

  • Provide early input to upcoming projects. Participate in investigations. 

  • Define return flows including waste handling. 

  • Develop Internal Logistic Equipment and create clear maintenance process. 

  • Secure equipment and service agreement are in line with operation requirements and standards. 

  • Define, prioritise and validate Packaging for running. Support and give input of packaging requirements for project. Agree, if needed new packing instruction with other concerned plants. Support with verification of PI in programs from TT build. Secure and support quality issues connected to packaging. 

  • When needed define and agree prerequisites at supplier pick up or X-dock mainly regarding packaging changes, delivery time, frequency, load pattern on pallet and/or carrier. 

  • Assure that all flows and equipment follow the Ergonomic, Safety and Quality demands. 

  

Job Specifications: 

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Industrial/Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics Management. Relevant education or equal qualifications. 

  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a leadership role within a fast paced manufacturing environment 

  • Detailed working knowledge of internal/external logistics flow/process engineering and vehicle plant manufacturing processes. 

  • Highly developed communication skills 

  • In-depth understanding and ability to teach/coach automotive logistics systems and processes in a JIT and JIS environment.
