What we are looking for:
- We are looking for someone responsible for analyzing, creating, and submitting required government regulatory emission compliance reports for the U.S. EPA, California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Transport Canada. Provides analytical assistance for gathering and interpreting data required for specific government (NHTSA, Transport Canada or other government entity) investigations.
A day in the life:
- Ensure all Compliance Reports (CAFÉ, NMOG + NOX etc) are properly analyzed, validated, verified and submitted while ensuring report submission deadlines as per government regulatory requirements.
- Identify, track and monitor all emission reduction credits
- Identify out-of-line data while implementing corrective actions by searching through large data sets for usable information across multiple departments.
- Ensure all sales volume data is correlated and verified for all required government reports.
- Submission of all required reports using the appropriate government website applications.
- Effectively communicate with EPA/Various State/CARB/NHTSA/Canadian authorities regarding report data information as required.
- Participate and present Emission Compliance data to the Volvo TRC (Technical Review Committee) as needed
- Reviews internal compliance reporting processes regularly to implement improvements and upgrades.
- As a participant of the Alliance of Automotive Innovation & Global Automakers of Canada, follow all relevant working Groups and/or topics to provide direct feedback both internally to Volvo (US & Sweden) counterparts & management via summations

- Authority to accept, reject or question data information to support the creation of valid reports.
- Authority to create and implement preventative actions to ensure reporting timelines are met.
- Ability to correlate similar data to identify actionable results and visualize data in the most effective way possible.
- Experience with and knowledge of the government bodies related to this position (such as the Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], National Highway Traffic Safety Administration [NHTSA], and California Air Resources Board [CARB], Transport Canada) preferred.
You might also have:
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
- College degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical or Environmental)
- Broad based computer data analytical software knowledge is required.
- Ability to direct appropriate company resources to ensure all reporting data is valid.
