Overview:

The Business Controller, Warranty & Quality is responsible for the financial management and control of various warranty and quality budgets for the Americas. The role is based in the Charleston Area (SC) but reports into the Director and Business Controller of Sales USA, located in NJ. The role is part of the Warranty & Quality mgmt. team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the financial governance and monitoring of all aspects of Warranty and Quality operations throughout the Americas Region.
  • Responsible to forecast and track the performance of all warranty and extended warranty programs for Volvo Car USA, as well as all goodwill and after warranty assistance programs.
  • All budgeting for Americas Warranty and other Quality activities for fixed cost management (all departments and cost centers).
  • Key stakeholder for all internal and external financial audits (i.e. GAO, Deloitte…) as related to warranty and quality for Americas.
  • Support all Quality purchasing and requisitioning activities.
  • Support the entire Americas and Global with the development of business cases and strategies affecting Warranty and Quality operations within the Americas.
  • Facilitate all Labour Rate and parts mark-up request from retailers.
  • Responsible for performing reserve analysis on warranty provisions, as well as certified pre-owned cost provisions.
  • Analysis on buyback and trade assists.
  • Work closely with the headquarter and factory teams to understand the development of warranty assumptions by platform and carline

 

 

Competencies, experiences & skills:

  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting and reporting supported by graduate degree in finance with 5+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of the US automotive business and products. Specific knowledge of vehicle sales planning and automotive finance and leasing programs will be preferred.
  • Knowledge of forecasting tools and methodology and ability to manage complex excel models
  • Apply appropriate technical and analytical skills to systematically analyse issues and data and use this information to make appropriate business recommendations
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines with accuracy and efficiency
  • Strong PC proficiency with high level of expertise in MS Excel and PowerPoint, experience with SAP will be preferred
  • Understanding of Automotive Warranty processes and routines.
  • Understanding of general and state warranty related laws.
  • General accounting awareness
