Head of People Experience- Volvo Car Italy

Your Mission

Volvo Car Italy is looking for an innovative and passionate Head of People Experience (Human Resources) to join our team based at our head office in Bologna. You will report to the Managing Director, as part of the Sales Company management team, but also a dotted line reporting to the Head of Global Commercial Operations and EMEA People Experience as a key member of the EMEA People Experience Management Team. You will also have functional oversight of one of our PX clusters. The successful person will work hand in hand with the Managing Director to drive the transformation of the company, and why not inspire the automotive sector as a whole. You will also have an important role in our EMEA People Experience team developing our function to the next level and driving different transformation initiatives on a regional level. Our industry is going through huge changes and we need to make sure the organisation and our people are up for it.

 

We are less interested in which sectors you’ve worked in previously but will want to hear about examples of how you have made a difference in your previous and current roles. With a proven track record of creating and delivering an outstanding and innovative employee experience, you’ll be key to delivering our People Experience strategy, and ensuring that Volvo Car Italy attracts, engages and retains the best talent and continues its successful journey of transformation from being a traditional car manufacturer to a company delivering mobility solutions. Are you up for the challenge?

Our ideal candidate will have leadership experience in a multinational environment and excel at handling multiple stakeholders. We also see you as having:

  • Shown examples of optimizing organisational structures and team dynamics and have driven small to mid-scale change initiatives
  • Led or been a key contributor to cultural change programmes with demonstrable success
  • A passion for employee engagement, and delivering improvements through policies and procedures, training and development
  • Strong organisational and project management skills and able to manage multiple activities
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills including team working and stakeholder management
  • Ability to apply a coaching approach and team development methodologies
  • A desire to make things happen and to take advantage of the opportunities offered by an agile and fast-changing environment
  • Shown that he/she is equally happy working on strategy (1-3 years) as having rolled up sleeves to get things done
  • Ideally would have worked in both SME and large corporate environments
  • International experience which would be viewed as a plus
  • A willingness to share your ideas and best practices in our People Experience team and help us to develop and have fun

 
Do you fit the profile?

This role requires flexible HR skills, the ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and locations around the world. We you to be fluent in English and Italian and have been educated to degree level within the HR field. You like to work independently as well as working in teams. This role also requires a strong sense of humor - we like to have fun while we are making history!
