Volvo Cars has a strong commitment to development of pure electric as well as hybrid electric vehicles and the China design team is responsibilities for several of the applications.

The battery hardware team in shanghai office is responsible for battery pack as well as mechanical and electrical components inside, such as BDU, busbar, tray, and Lid etc, and responsible for from battery cell to pack level verification and certification activities especially for APAC markets.

We work in close collaboration with our suppliers, support them with quality requirements and lead them in the direction of our expectations.

It is important for us to have a transparent communication with external and internal stakeholders, to work together as a one team and deliver in perform according to Volvo Cars values and principles of our culture and goals.

We are also transforming internally and changing into agile way of working using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), which gives our employees additional opportunities to grow and develop within the company and have a broader scope of work, deeper collaboration and taking the ownership of their work. 

What you will do?

Your scope of work mainly involves engineering design work for battery pack level development in cooperation with selected supplier, while also include component level inside the battery pack for some in house development engineering tasks.

You will be responsible for collection, break down and implementation of battery pack requirements and technical documentation in cooperation with selected supplier, and draft the corresponding internal technical documents for in-house development products as well, also to ensure that Analysis and Verification requirements are created, monitored and implemented together with testing team, support certification activities when needed as well.

Performing FMEA and ensuring that Quality assurance tools are used for the assignment is also one of the important tasks you will have to take on.

You will manage and Perform Design Reviews for the assignment, handle Change management and support purchasing in supplier evaluation and selection for included parts.

Do you fit the profile

You have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electrical or mechanical engineering, Mechatronics or other relevant technical area.

 

You should have minimum 3 years working experience from cross-functional work in automotive industry with product development in fast-paced environment.

 

If you have working experience in development of battery pack for NEV cars is highly preferred.

 

You are fluent in English, written and spoken, and you are used to work in a global environment. Clear communication and transparency must come naturally to you, as well as team spirit and strong collaboration with different stakeholders. If you have been working previously in agile set-up this would be beneficial for us.
